2025 AAA Awardee - Haohua Wang

Zhejiang University

Citation: For seminal contributions to experimental superconducting quantum devices and quantum simulation.

Bio: Dr. Wang received his BSc from Nankai University in 1999 and his PhD from Penn State University in 2006. After a postdoctoral appointment (2007–2010) at UC Santa Barbara, he joined Zhejiang University (ZJU) in Hangzhou as a faculty member and was promoted to Qiushi Professor in 2017. His research interests lie primarily in the fields of superconducting quantum computation and simulation, focusing on engineering superconducting devices for applications in quantum information science and technology. In particular, he has contributed to improving the coherence of Josephson-junction qubits and circuit quantum electrodynamics devices, enabling the detailed investigation of strong light-matter interactions at the quantum level. He has also led his team in demonstrating the generation of Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states of up to 60 superconducting qubits, and in building versatile quantum processors for simulating nonequilibrium quantum many-body physics and benchmarking quantum algorithms.
