Thesis title: Ultrafast and bright radiation sources from laser plasma acceleration
Bio: Xinglong Zhu received his PhD degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2021. From April 2021, he joined Tsung-Dao Lee Institute as a postdoctoral research fellow. His main research interests are theoretical and numerical research of high-power laser plasma interactions, involving the studies of ultra-bright gamma-ray emission, dense GeV electron-positron pair production, QED effects and high energy particle acceleration, and the generation of relativistic tunable ultrashort radiation pulses from mid-IR to THz range. So far, he has published over 10 first-author papers in peer-reviewed journals (including 3 high-impact journals: 1 in Nature Communications, 1 in Science Advances, and 1 in Light: Science & Applications) and 5 coauthored peer-reviewed research papers, with about 380 citations and H-index 10 in google scholar. Due to his outstanding performance, he was awarded the OCPA Outstanding Dissertation Award (No more than 4 laureates per year) in 2022, the Shanghai Super Postdoctoral Fellowships in 2021, the CAI Shidong Award in Plasma Physics (No more than 3 laureates per year) in 2021, the 17th Wang Daheng Award in Optics (for the top 30 outstanding postgraduates studying optics in China) in 2021, the Outstanding Graduates of Shanghai in 2021, the National Scholarship for Doctoral students in 2020 by the Ministry of Education of China, the AAPPS-DPP U30 Scientist and Student Award in 2020, the top cited author award in physics in 2018 by Institute of Physics (UK), etc.
